STATEMENT OF FAITH

The Bible: We believe the Bible to be the unique, inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God for all matters of Christian faith and practice.

God: We believe in one God, creator and sustainer of all things, infinitely perfect and eternally existing in three persons- Father, Son and Holy Spirit.  He is the Lord of the universe and continues to fulfill His redemptive purposes throughout history.

Jesus Christ: We believe in the deity and humanity of Jesus Christ, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary.  In accordance with the Scriptures, He died as an atoning sacrifice for our sins, rose bodily from the grave, ascended to heaven, and is now with the Father interceding for us.

The Holy Spirit: We believe that the present ministry of the Holy Spirit is to convict unbelievers, regenerate the believing sinner, and indwell, guide, instruct, encourage, correct, and empower the believer for godly living and service evidenced by the development of the fruit and gifts of the Spirit.

Salvation: We believe that humans were created in the image of God to have fellowship with Him, but they sinned through disobedience and are lost and alienated from God.  The vicarious death and supernatural resurrection of Christ provide the only ground for the reconciliation and salvation of all who believe and commit themselves to following the Lord in a life of obedience.

The Church: We believe that the universal church is composed of all people who through faith have personally accepted God’s saving grace, and thus are united together in the body of Christ.  All believers should be identified with a local church where the sacraments of water baptism and the Lord’s Supper are observed and the elements of worship, evangelism, discipleship, community, equipping, and service are practiced.

The Last Day: We believe in the personal, future return of our Lord Jesus Christ, and that this hope has a vital bearing on the present life of the believer.  On the last day there will be the resurrection of the dead, and the final judgment of the living and the dead.  The unbeliever will receive eternal condemnation and separation for the Lord, and the believer will receive eternal rewards and communion with the Lord.
